Chief Executive Erik Samuelson has called on fans to back Neal Ardley’s playing budget by supporting the relaunched We Are Wimbledon Fund.

Ahead of what’s expected to be a very competitive League One next season, Erik believes it’s vital to give the manager the best chance possible of improving his squad.

“You probably saw the interview yesterday with Damian and Xavier talking about the relaunch of the We Are Wimbledon Fund,” said Erik. “It is a fund that fans raise, which is designed to help Neal get the strongest possible team. We are in a massively competitive League One – there are seven Premier League teams in there – so it is really imperative, given all the financial pressures on the club right now, that we all pitch in as much as we can to help our team.”

Since its formation four years ago, the We Are Wimbledon Fund has helped Neal to sign players crucial to our success and WAWF organiser Xavier Wiggins yesterday called for “renewed energy” from fans to help keep the club competitive in League One next season.

The main way for fans to contribute is via a direct debit form from the We Are Wimbledon Fund website. There is an option for supporters to make one-off payments via this form. In the section that says ‘Payment Schedule’, where it asks for the ‘End’ date, simply select ‘Take certain number of debits’ and a new box will open to allow you to choose option 1.
