WAWF started in 2013 when a few volunteers bombarded fans at Kingsmeadow with direct debit forms to help the Club increase the men’s first team playing budget.

In this seven-year period, WAWF have contributed to several areas across the Club, but most significantly to the men’s first teams’ playing budget. The We Are The Resurrection merchandise raised £24,000 towards the Club’s running costs, while other purchases have included terminals and kit. In recent times, WAWF have donated items to DLAG to assist their volunteers with the amazing work they do in our community. All of our fundraising has been carried out with the aim of improving the men’s first team budget, growing the Club, improving the fan’s match day experience and ensuring we are part of our community.”

The WAWF Plough Lane Bond

When the Dons Trust launched The Plough Lane Bond, some people were unable to contribute the minimum purchase figure required to buy their own Plough Lane Bond. Up popped WAWF, who set up WAWF Plough Lane Bond to allow supporters to get involved without there being a minimum purchase figure. WAWF then purchased two Plough Lane Bonds, worth £35,000, with 254 supporters’ hard earned money. Supporters were able to choose between donating their interest to WAWF or taking the interest at the end of the term of the bond. The WAWF Plough Lane Bonds carried interest at rates of 2% for a 5 year bond worth £20,000, and 3% for a 10 year bond worth £15,000. At the end of the 5 year term, WAWF rolled over their 5 year Plough Lane Bond in full, whilst paying out all redemptions, and interest, requested by WAWF Plough Lane Bond holders, which has allowed the Club to keep the Bond active.
